MergeTown – Privacy Policy
Effective date: 8 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the mobile game MergeTown ("the game", "we", "us"), developed by mvLabs, collects when you play it on Android, why, and what choices you have.
1. Information we collect
We do not ask for your real name, e-mail address, phone number, contacts or precise location.
Game account. When you start the game, an online game account is created for you with Unity Gaming Services (Unity Technologies). If you are signed in to Google Play Games, the account is linked to your Play Games identity so your progress and name follow you to other devices. The account has a random player ID.
Data stored on our game servers (Unity Gaming Services):
- your player ID and, if used, your Google Play Games player identifier;
- the player name you choose (visible to other players);
- a public snapshot of your town (buildings, defenses, trophies, level) used so other players can attack it;
- a private backup of your game progress (levels, resources, buildings, settings), visible only to your account, so it can be restored after reinstalling or on a new phone;
- your trophy score on the global leaderboard;
- game events needed for online play: raids you made or suffered (attacker name, stars, resources), your shield timer, clan membership, troop requests and donations, weekly clan goal progress;
- a push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can tell you when your town is raided. You can turn this off in Settings → Notifications.
Data stored on your device: a local copy of your game progress (resources, levels, settings).
Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics): how the game is used (for example levels started and finished, raids, purchases, tutorial steps, session length), device model, OS version, country and an app instance ID. We use it to fix problems and balance the game.
In-app purchases are processed by Google Play. We never see your payment card or billing details. The game receives a purchase confirmation (product and transaction ID) only to deliver what you bought.
Notifications. Besides raid alerts, the game schedules local reminders on your device (for example "your chest is ready").
2. What other players can see
Other players can see your player name, your town, trophies and league, your clan membership and clan activity (donations). Please do not use your real name or personal information as your player name. Offensive names are not allowed.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Depending on your choices this may be used for personalised ads.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the game asks for your consent before personalised advertising using Google's consent tool. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your Android settings.

4. Why we use the data (legal bases)
- to run the game and its online features (accounts, raids, leaderboards, clans, names) – performance of our service;
- to send raid and reminder notifications – your choice in Settings;
- analytics to improve the game – our legitimate interest;
- personalised ads – your consent where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Third-party services
- Unity Technologies – Unity Gaming Services (accounts, cloud data, leaderboards, server logic) and in-app purchasing library – https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Google – Play Games Services, Play Billing, AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging – https://policies.google.com/privacy
These providers process data on our behalf or under their own privacy policies and may store it outside your country.
6. Retention
Server data is kept while your account exists. Raid logs are kept only until you see them. Analytics data is kept according to the Firebase retention setting (2 to 14 months). Data on your device is removed when you uninstall the game.
7. Deleting your account and data
- In the game: Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your game account and all data stored on our servers (name, town, leaderboard entry, clan membership, raid history) and resets the game on your device.
- Without the game: send an e-mail to [email protected] with the subject "MergeTown account deletion" and your player name. We delete the account within 30 days.
Analytics data is anonymous to us and expires automatically; advertising data is controlled by Google through your Android settings.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing and to data portability. Contact us at the address below. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Children
MergeTown is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Security
Data is transferred over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to server data is restricted; players cannot change other players' data.
